Poilanne Bakery, Paris –– 10 Shot Video
This is a 10 Shot Video at the famous Poilane Bakery in Paris. I was surprised how small the space was. And crowded! It was New Year’s eve, we were provisioning for a quiet family celebration. The challenge was to make a 10 Shot Video in a tight little space that would convey how amazing the bakery is and not upset a crowd of shoppers rushing to get their bread et al. That’s the whole point of my book: to give you the tools to shoot whatever you wish in order to make fun, watchable videos. HAPPY SHOOTING!

This is the second of three 10 Shot Videos I shot at The Canal House Fair last July. The idea was to shoot three videos of the same place – differently. This one, as you’ll see, is much more intimate than #1. I guess, as I became more comfortable being there, I was able to get in closer to my subjects. Don’t you think it’s a better film when people speak and show emotion? The viewer becomes an active participant, not an outsider. Oh, and sometimes even pros screw up: my microphone got turned off at the beginning of a shot. Oh, well.
