Canal House Fair –– 10 Shot Video #2 of 3
This is the second of three 10 Shot Videos I shot at The Canal House Fair last July. The idea was to shoot three videos of the same place – differently. This one, as you’ll see, is much more intimate than #1. I guess, as I became more comfortable being there, I was able to get in closer to my subjects. Don’t you think it’s a better film when people speak and show emotion? The viewer becomes an active participant, not an outsider. Oh, and sometimes even pros screw up: my microphone got turned off at the beginning of a shot. Oh, well.

The Canal House Fair, put on last July by my friends Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton, was not only great fun it was a good place to shoot multiple 10 Shot Videos. The Canal House fair was great fun. The challenge, as always, is to capture the spirit of the event. The fair was spread out over acres with demonstrations, food, music, people having a great time. This is the last of three 10 Shot Videos I shot that day to show how different the same place can look. Everyone has a different view of the world.
